There was a import/british car show here locally last night that I was excited to go to. The place is about roughly 15-20 miles from my house. Took the cover off the Z, jumped in and drove to the show. Got there and saw 2 2+2, and one 280 Z...corvettes, camaros - muscle cars- were all over the place. I saw one Ferrarri, one nice black Viper and some British cars that I've never seen before. I saw a couple of small British cars that I've only seen Mr. Bean drove in his shows but I didn't know they really existed... Anyway, after the show, drove home, Z was running great. It was kinda chilly outside so I was boostin' a little bit. I pulled up to my parking space, took my key off of the ignition so now the timer is ON. While it was idling, I noticed a very slight change in idle. I sat in the car for a little bit and tried to figure out what's causing that...injectors going bad, loose vacuum hose....dunno. Later on, I had to go for some errands. Jumped into the Z, drove out and that slight idling is still there...hmmm. I was driving for about 10 mins then it finally hit me...MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE THE AIR FILTER ON! OH S#@T! I kinda panicked and didn't know what to do, whether to pull over and stop the car right there or go back home. I decided to go back home since I thought I've been driving it without the filter for a while, another 10 mins of drive wouldn't hurt. DUH! I took out the POP charger last Sunday so I can clean it and re-oil it but didn't get around it. I left all the screws sitting on top of the radiator, the metal piece sitting on the engine cover just to the front of the car and the nose piece unbolted! I was so worried that I lost all of them but when I opened the hood, lo and behold, they're all there except for the "o" ring for the filter. I felt so dumb. Has anyone of you ever heard a dumber story than that?
